OK solder and heat shrink is the way to go.

The control ports are on the same type of 8 wire system and would have to be stretched in the same way. Important thing to remembr is if any of these wires ground out on the chasis of the car or hit bare metal.....bye bye xbox.

you could always surround it wiith a box or something. so it doesn't touch anything. Just something to house the mother board. Thanks for the idea

damn i would have never thought to rip open my xbox 2 install it into my ride.. i just did the basics got some foam and had it mounted into the glove box since i had the PS2 mounted else where and bought some longer controllers. i guess taking it apart would be easier since i wouldnt have a huge box (which is hard to hide) in my car. i'm gonna check out that link but would prefer a way to make the PS2 smaller and installed alot better than i did tucking it away

Taking the PS2 apart and instaling it as a component system is actually pretty common and not all that hard to do.

Since the XboX is still fairly new it is an unknown quantity to a lot of people and they get scared to open it up...it's actualy easier to work with than a computer sometimes
