Default sorry another rubbing question!

Hi, I have a 97 accord ex. I was wondering if I bought 18x8 rims with 225/40/18 tires on them and the rims had a +51 offset, would it rub with a decent drop? When I say decent I say at least 2 in. Thanks for any help you can give everyone.

i dont know from experience on your model car, but if they're 51mm offset, then i bet they at least rub while turning...aren't most around 41mm.....like i said, dunno for sure, but 51's are gonna tuck way underneath and put them closer to the wheel well IF they are like most hondas i'm use to.....maybe someone knows for sure

dude.....do yo u mean a 41mm positive offset...cuz that is normal on most of the hondas i've seen....either 40mm or 41mm.....like the dude above said...u wouldnt have clearance inside the wheel.....if they are 41mm, then they would probably work, but might possibly rub on a sharp turn.....thats a big wheel/tire combo...u know that 18's are for looks only too....they look good, but hurt u when u wanna go fast....why not 17's

well i was looking at a set of racing hart m5s on ebay and the auction says a 51mm offset. I thought it was kind on high too and thats why I asked all of u :-). I wanted to get 17s actually and they are cheaper too but when I put my friend's 17s on that he was selling just to see what they look like, me and him both thought they looked real small. That is why I want 18s. My friend wants me to get 19s but I think that is crazy. They weren't m5's, they were some team dynamic wheels.

did you say you're car IS already lowered....if not, 17's would look small.....id just go with 17's.....most people put 205/40/17 tires on them, but you can put a little bigger tire on instead, like a 215/45/17......they would be 10mm wider and like a 14mm+ taller sidewall and shouldnt come nearly as close to rubbing....just depends on what you like though....i hate the fendergap too, but i hate rubbing and cutting up my tires more....

yeah my car is lowered about 2.5 inches now with coilovers b/c of winter but summertime I'm usually lowered about 3.25. My car was lowered when we tried the 17s. Obviously I won't go that low with 18s if I got them. I dunno I'm not too worried about going fast since I am in college and don't have the money it takes to make my car fast so I just want to add a liitle style and that's it. One thing I am thinking though is that the team dynamics were gunmetal and my car is black so maybe the dark wheel against a dark car made them look smaller than normal. I dunno but thanks a lot for all your help!!!
