2003 Accord...nasty tires
Every article I've read on the '03 Accords seem to state one specific area that baffled them. The tires. Stopping distances recorded were less than stellar for the Accord, which historically has generally good figures.
I'm >this< close to getting an '03 EX 5-speed, but am somewhat concerned about this tire issue. Does anyone know if the dealer will change this out by request before purchase, or will a tire company like Discount Tire take trades on factory tire/wheels? And even if I did, I wouldn't know what to get. Anyone have any suggestions? What decent performing all-season's can be had these days?
Any info would be extremely appreciated.
Thanks!

You could ask the dealer to swap the tires before you pick it up. I suggest Bridgestone S-03's for a very well rounded performance tire.
EDIT: You want all seasons. I didn't see that. :slap:

From the Motor Trend review, "high-mileage, mud-and-snow, do-everything-but-grip tires."
I'd just as well replace the tires, wheels, AND brakes with larger, better performing aftermarket ones, but spending ~$2500 right after the purchase of a new car doesn't sit well with me at the moment, especially since I only plan to keep the car for 2-3 years.
unless you're expecting to go fast and break hard, i don't really think you should worry yourself about the breaking distance too much. it might not be up to par with sports cars, but for a regular car, it's fine. i haven't had a problem with it so far, and it stops pretty well. no complaints from me; but then again, i just drive normally and don't tend to need the best breaks in the world. that's just me, though.

WTF!! u guys with 7th gens are complainin about sh*tty tires?? wtf is that. I rode on my gf's 03 ex sedan with michellin tires and i thought they were F*ckin awesome. If you dont like that, what does that make me?? My car from factory came with bridgestone turanza tires!!!
and the weird thing is that same car as me but LX models from factory even comes with michellin tires. Why is that? Anyways, you guys shouldnt complain cause those michellin tires are awesome. And if u dont like them, u can have my factory bridgestone turanza tires and i'll gladly take ur michellin tires.
