i personally love my 4th gen. I have driven 5th gens and just dont get the same feeling as i do in a 4th gen. Plus exterior looks i think 4th gen wins cause 5th gen they tried to go for a more roundish look and it wasn't working for me. The 4th gen tail lights are debatable, 92-93 looks better but i have 90-91 with the trunk lights shaved and i like that better then both stock variations. Its up to you and what you want/like. I personally would never give up an IS, such a beautiful stunningly fast car with luxury to boot.

5th generation, in my opinion, is a nicer looking car. Go for it.

The IS300 isn't that fast really, the best stock 1/4 times I've ever heard of is 14.9 seconds, and 0-60 is maybe 7.2...about equal with my friend's SVT Focus. Of course they are very mod-able, people get them up over 400 rear-wheel horsepower all the time with just a Stage 2 turbo. But I don't have the money for big mods.

So wait, the EX doesn't necessarily come with leather? I get the impression from all the classifieds I see, that pretty much every EX that Honda makes comes packaged with leather.

det, you mentioned the V-6 Accords. Just wanted to let you know the V-6 wasn't available with a manual transmission if that's what you're looking for, and the added weight offset any performance gains. Go with an EX-4-cyl.

Get a 4th gen, It's damn reliable car, my Mom has had her 91 accord se since it was brand new and never ran into any major problems. The only problem with my moms car and mine is that the 3rd brake light doesnt work properly.

This is really kinda funny. I'm interested in two cars, a burgundy '93 EX sedan and a dark blue '94 LX wagon. I'm in a pretty good position to get a deal because I can hardly decide between them! The wagon has 90K miles and it's in excellent shape except there's some rust and corrosion in the engine bay; dealer is asking $5500 but I know he got it at auction so I'm going to try to talk him down to $4800 with tax. The '93 sedan has 125K miles but has no corrosion at all; private seller, he's asking $4000 (I could probably talk him down a bit, too).

I'm going to go for the wagon first because I want the utility and the nicer cloth in the interior. If I can't get the dealer below $5000, I'll get the sedan.

This is all assuming the cars are okayed by my mechanic. I'll post a pic when it's all over!

go straight for the sedan, and skip the wagon.
