both me and my gf have Audiobahn, and are quite happy with them.
I used to have 2 JL 10w4's (had em for years), but they got stolen...when I went to buy new ****....well the Audiobahn was teh best bump for the buck to me. I ended up getting a single 12 and a 500 watt lanzar amp to push it...for what we paid...we are both happy, oh yeah she got a single 10 and an 800 watt lanzar to push it....between us both we spent less than $500 for all of that....

Boston and sucks do not go together... they are one of the only companies left that make real, quality products... for reasonable prices... them and polk.

Alpine is along the same category... quality stuff.

The generators do not suck... you might wanna give mine a listen... you'll change your mind.

we did, tweeter sells boston and jl. I agree boston is great, but the lower level stuff is nothing great at least not compared to JLW0s. Alpine is great, the only HU I'll ever buy. Polk door speakers nice, not sure about subs though.

Polk makes ok speakers... But not good subs. I will put a $140 Tempest up against your Circuit City Polk MOMO sub anyday...

Boston Acoustic is the same way... Decent Comps but not-so-great subs... at least when you are talking about REAL car audio... i.e. Xplod everything sucks... Rainbow Platinums rule... Arc and Pheonix Gold Amps only...

Basically, do you want a Circuit City system or a Real system.

You should do some reasearch on these things in car audio forums... I have a feeling most people here don't know all that much.

www.elitecaraudio.com is good

NEVER use SoundDomain.com that is a pile of ****...

www.termpro.com is ok too

It's a shame there isn't really a VERY good car audio forum yet.

I have a Av6 as well... and I've been researching and researching on what single sub and box I would like to get. I already have a JL Audio 250/1 amp.. so this is going to be a low power setup..which is all I need for moderate spl with excellent SQ.

I had a chance to recently audition 2 subs at a local store... one had a eDesigns K series sub 12" and an adire audio shiva. The K was sealed in a 1.3 cu box and the shiva was in a 2cu box. Lucky for me they had them hooked up to a JL 250/1 amp. All eq settings and bass boost turned off. And my dave matthews band cd playing in a Nak 45Z player.

After careful listening... I came away and decided upon the K over the Shiva... SPL wise the shiva shook me a little more but the K was a little more controlled in the SQ area. I wouldnt take away any brownie points from either sub... to the average listener they sound almost identical. And with prices that are for budget minded ppl... I came away happy.

Of course the fawkers there wanted $250 for either sub... which I just laughed in their face....

anyways my point.. is that your best bet would be to audition subs locally... and make up your own mind... if not research around and try to get an overall consensus of the quality brands out there and dont just fall for the "hype" .

Lastly.... customer service at Adire and eDesign were wonderful and courteous.

I'm really starting to think that I should go with two Adire Shiva's becuase I have been researching all day and everyone on every site has said something good about them. But now comes the next problem...What kind of amp? I want one to run the subs, or do I need two. So many questions so little time!

If you are thinking about the Shivas look at the eDesigns too... they are almost the same thing... baed upon the same driver structure... but the eDesigns look a little better, and are supposed to be a tad louder.

I like my Kicker SoloBaric L5's....but I wouldn't buy them if it were up to me. I would get L7's, but even those are overpriced for what they give you.

Get two 15" Eclipse subs. They outperformed me (badly) on Saturday's Accord meet. Plus they sounded REALLY loud.

I'd go with JL if you're practical though. They seem to be the best all around deal for quality, power, and brand. Audiobahn if you're economical and you just want power handling (not quality).

As for Rockford Fosgate amps, mine is the older model and so far, I like it. I'd much rather have a nice Alpine though. hehe. the new rockford fosgate amps are so ugly i wouldn't even consider buying them even if they did sound nice.

As far as I have heard Pheonix gold amps are great, but are Memphis amps good? Any suggestions?
