You don't need 1000 watts for two Shivas... 800 would do just as well and not risk hurting those. Also, yes use a sealed box... I would recommend that for your application. But if you use 1000 watts then you will need to port it.

good choice on the shivas!!

1000 watts is a overkill on these drivers but I recommend them in a sealed enclosure.... 1.5 or more for each chamber

I just got my edesign 12 K series lastnite and already had made my box last weekend... 1.2 cubic feet sealed. The little guy is only running 250rms from a JL amp. From comparing it to a 15 inch Rockford punch amp... this little guy made me smile at the accuracy of bass tones I was missing from the RF.

If you're going to port the shivas.. jeeziz you better not want to use your trunk space for anything else.. it's going to be a big box.

Do you think that feeding 1000 watts into 2 shiva's 12" that can handle 650 - 700 watts is a good idea? I've heard that if I play it low that I won't blow them? Need some help here!

You wont but you are paying more money for the same result... Plus you will need higher load amp wiring and your battery will drain faster, you might even have a problem with dimming lights while runnin 1k watts.
