Polk MOMO 12" ...sealed box. With enough wattage (at least 150-200w), is perhaps the cleanest sounding 12" i have ever heard, also, requires little air space, so you can build a small box...

I'm not sure what experience rfsurfer has... but that is a crappy sub. Maybe for the price it's ok. Bostons definitely aren't good for the price either... A shiva would blow either of those away at 125 bucks.

My friend worked at Best Buy and about 90% of customers came back to return blown amps. They're the worst! About Shiva subs, does everyone agree that these are good? My budget is $500 to $800 for subs and amp. What kind of box do I need for these? What's a good amp too? Thanks for the advise though guy, keep it coming I'm really learning alot.

What the hell is a Shiva?? is that one of those **** subs found at those "deal of the centruy" things??

How can you say Polk is crap?? are you on friggen crack?? Same with Boston... have you ever even heard them??? Must be not. I have 2 10" boston generators, which is their base-line sub, and people swear I have 2 12" pro's in my car.

Rockford amps are pretty gay... their older amps were great... but now they do kinda suck, but are still great for powering subs. I'll correct myself... get 2 Alpine MRV-500 mono amps to power Bostons... or Polk's for that matter.

yeah a local shop quite selling RF amps because the said the are "jensen crap", hehe.

"what is a shiva?" Its made by Adire ( www.adireaudio.com ), they have amazing subs at a low price. quite a few people in this thread alone have said to get an adire audio sub (shiva, brahma tempest & maelstrom) let alone if you go to a car audio forum. just check out the adireaudio site.

my friend and I both have the same RFs amp that are a 1.5 years old and they seem fine to me, but were're only pushing one JL10W0 so maybe that's why.

as for Boston, the generator sucks. I was either going to get 1 10 inch Generator or the JL and my friend and I went with JL cause it sounded better. Boston's lower level stuff isn't very good.
