I do not know if they have since changed or if the car is still under some sort of warranty since the car is about 5yrs old now... Oh's well's guess I have to take another weekend and tear the whole car apart, spend some money and get everything fixed, then sell the damn thing.... Don't get me wrong, I love my 1988 Honda accord, the 97 is just junk.. My Friends mom is Japanese and she told me that the newer accords were junk because they are made in the United states.. She asked me how my 88 accord was doing, I told her no problems with it---Kinda Funny I think...

That's bs. The cars might be put together a lil bit better in japan, but the factories here are great.

lemon.....I've had nothing but pure lovin' from my 97. Nothing worse than routine maintenance and my stock exhuast has finally rusted out after 5 years of michigan winters.

Sounds like a lemon, because what kind of cam gear spins off the cam, that's a very difficult thing to do if your not beating the living piss out of the car each and every second of the day for a week without turning it off except to get gas, and i dont believe u did that.

It's gotta be very hard to get the cam gear to fall off the cam..that seems impossible to me..but I guess that happened..

It's likely you just have a lemon. Your '88 is a better example of what the typical Accord is.

Yeah I would say you have just been un-lucky, I too have a 97 ex coupe .. I have had some minor problems, but they were covered under warranty. For the most part the car has been great!

yeah seriously man don't give up hope yet. I would def try to take some legal action in regards with the lemon law because there is no doubt that is what you have. That dealership is totally screwing ya. I got a 97 accord myself, drove over 33,000 miles in about a year and a half and have never had to do anything so far except oil changes and other routine things. My inspections barely cost me anything too. If you do decide to fight it, good luck and let us know how it turns out!!!!!
