Default 90 accord. tire and rim replacement.

Okay, I am sorry if this is the wrong spot to post this, I am new here. if it is. Please move my thread.

But, anyway I have a 90 accord, with standard rims on it, Not lowered

and I was given two sets of rims. with tires on them, the tires read
206 40 zr17
and I was wondering if they would fit onto my accord without rubbing in the front?

Put one on and find out, simple as that. 205's on a 15" rim will fit fine with about +40mm offset if I remember correctly, but I'm not sure about a 17.

Well, without the offset it would be impossible to say.

He's wondering about the wheel offset.

It should be stamped on the inside of the wheel somewhere. Something along the lines of "_ _ ET". Range would probably be in between 40mm - 48mm ET.

Here's a tire size calculator to gauge how much off your new set from your originals:

Honda wheels are positive offset, but offset will vary and without knowing it then nobody can begin to help you. You will also need to know the wheel width - neither of these things are stamped on tires because it has absolutely nothing to do with the tire, except for the width of the tire has to be within a range that will work with the width of the wheel. At the same time, I can't tell you what offset or width at a given offset will fit because I've only had 3 different wheels on my accord and none of them were a 17".

the proper tire size would be 205/45/17. the only differance using the 40 series tire is the km differance is 2 km meaning when your speedo shows 100km/h, its really going 98km/h im canadian, metric user

Thankyou Tedmond, but I also have another question. my two back tires blew out. and the only replacements I can get for the amount of $ I have. are 215 40 r17. I would be putting them in the back. Would they rub when I hit bump/dips ? My accord is NOT lowered. it is standard

i got the same tire size for my accord, but my car is 95 5th gen accord. it shouldnt rub. If you can purchase the 215s, im sure the 205 would be cheaper by a few bucks.
