Default Wipers

I havwe a 2000 honda accord 4 dr and my wipers seem to wipe too hard. They wipe hard enough that they go past the windshield. When they get back to the bottom they kind of jerk. I want to know if anyone else has had this problem and how you can fix it. Its really annoying so that's why i am asking.

I'm not sure what you mean by the jerk at the bottom, maybe it's a problem with the motor or it's linkage. Otherwise, you can adjust them very easily to that the driver's side blade won't run off or into the edge of the windshield.

It does get worse on the highway when the speeds get faster. also it doesn't let me set an independent time (the first setting). What i mean by the jerk is that it wants to go past the bottom but when it cant it will kind of bounce up. How can i adjust it if at all possible.

Do the wipers have any play in them? Grab hold of the wiper arm and try to move it in the direction of travel. The wiper arms shouldn't move more than 1/4 inch or so. If you can move them more than an inch you have a problem with the wiper motor linkage. The plastic connector pieces on the linkage rods sometimes pop out of place & cause the wiper to have excessive play which causes what you are describing.
