But i can get around it with a regular wrench. The problem is that the fuel line "bends" when you put pressure on the filter when trying to break the nut. I have a fule filter that's been sitting in my closet for about 8 months now. I cant install it for nothin!!! Where you live? I might pay you to do it :-) I"m not paying a shop $60 to do it. I think i spent $20 on the filter itself!

Crow Feet are your friend!

I used about 18 inches of socket wrench extensions with a 14mm crow foot at the end of it. Can't remember if it was from the bottom or the top--must've been the top--I fished the extensions down onto the nut and turned the ratchet to get it off.

When I was trying to put it back on, it seems like the angles were screwing up or something. I couldn't get the nut started. So on the contrary, I don't think I'll be changing that muthafukca again. Fuel filter is hella cheap. But gettin' that bastard off and on ain't no damn fun.

I don't think they ever do it during the 105k mile maintenance program the dealership has. But the Haynes manual says to do it something rediculous like every 15k or 30k miles. Man, not for that headache.

Hope that helps out!

hhmm..what exactly does a crow foot do? I've never heard of it.

is this what it looks like?

It doesnt seem like you could get enuff leverage with that, but i'm prolly wrong.

And i was actually told by a honda dealership that the filter in my 96 sedan is a "lifetime" filter. So they are basically saying it never needs to be changed, does that make sense? To me it doesnt!
