alright, some of the guys from HondaSociety are saying its NOT a good idea to put HID's into a set of JDM headlights. Bcuz of the flare to the left will blind pple on the other side of the road.

now what i'm curious is..... what do you guys think about this? Does anyone else have JDM's with HID? have you caused any problems or anything?

should i still get HID or stick with stock halogen bulb's and get some driving lights?
No one really answered your original question, so.......

DO NOT put real JDM housings on your car for street use, and definitely DO NOT put HID's in them

Ive seen real JDM headlights on an RSX, and there is definitely a huge flare to the left with those things. Even with halogens its very blinding. The guy I saw who had em said he is blinding people all over and getting highbeamed all the time. I would not even consider JDM housings with halogens on our roads, let alone HID's, its just dangerous, and doesnt even light up the road well for our needs.

one of the reasons why jdm style> real jdm. It flares to the right. Works great with my 6000K HID kit. Only been flashed 2 times in my many months of having them. And that was also because, they were turning in front of me, to come towards me.

I have a set of projectors with H.I.Ds in them and I never get flashed. Is there something different between JDM and projectors, I was oringally told that projectors where worse with H.I.Ds?

depends on the projectors. i'll say almost all (though i've yet to see a good one) aftermarket projectors have the crappiest beam pattern. mind parking against the wall and take a pic of your beam pattern to show us how yours look like?

Now most of the HID kits are made where the HID is in the same position as halogen filament. So beam pattern isn't affected.

As far as the light spread I'll have to check out your light pattern to determine if its safe to go HID.

Elit what you are saying is true for OEM US-Spec headlights only.

USC was referring to aftermarket projector headlamps. No matter what bulb you use, the beam pattern is horrible on those things. Also JDM headlamps blind oncoming traffic as is. HIDs in them will only amplify the problem, and probably get you pulled over.

I thought I was adjusting my headlights wrong but I guess the flare is normal with JDM lights. I understand people drive on the opposite side of the road in Japan. Whats the purpose of the flare to the left?
