May I please have the site name? Was it http://www.cheaphondaparts.com/?

I have 95 Honda DelSol Si that needs a new SRS module...and I've been debating for the past month or so whether or not to buy a new SRS module vs an used module, and I have also considered http://www.airbagsystems.com/computer.html that you mentioned...but I really don't need to waste my time with folks who claim to fix my SRS computer. I think that you were wise to purchase a new SRS module. I will probably do the same to take care of my SRS warning light.

I also would like to know if there were any precautionary measures you took to replace the SRS module other than disconnecting battery.
The more details, the better.

Thanks for your time!

Been away for a while ... checking in.

I use http://www.hondapartsdeals.com/honda_parts.php or http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/home.htm for my parts. Both are dealers who don't rape you like other dealers.

For safety go ahead and disconnect the battery .... other then that the controller R2 is straight forward. No special hints for my app ... can't speak for them all.

Default $49.00 SRS modules

I don't know these guys, but I stumbled onto their site as I fumbled thru the process of getting the safety equipment troubleshot on my car.

I called them, and tried to drive over there, but he said he only does "credit card over the phone" orders and doesn't take walk ins. I moved on.

96 EX,
Thanks for the info!

When I took my 95 DelSol in for diagnostics, my Honda dealer advised me that I needed a new SRS module (for about $620) + around $700 for labor, and asked me if I want to go ahead and get it fixed. I turned down their offer and left my Honda dealer after paying them $120 for their diagnostics.

And I've been driving my DelSol around with the SRS warning light on for a few months... And one morning, I found my battery completely dead. The SRS warning light came on, when my battery started to acting up...so, I always thought that perhaps the SRS warning light had something to do with my battery.

Good news is that my hunch was right!
I installed a brand new battery about a week ago, reset the warning light via MES connector and I no longer have the SRS warning light illuminated. My problem is solved with a brand new battery.

Isn't that kind of ironical when my Honda dealer quoted me for over $1300 for the job? Well, that is why I don't trust any dealer.

Good day

/\ That's how my SRS crapped out ... the battery died, apparently it set off something in the SRS controller. I too paid $100 for the Honda Diagnosis ... I should have just downloaded the trouble codes myself from the start.

But the price diff from the dealer I was at compared to the price I paid from the afore mentioned sites was about half ...

Yes, the morale of the story is if you have the time, the inkling (or don't have the $$$ to pay a dealer) ... get out there, do a little research and you can fix things yourself.
