my teacher said it would probably be easy except for the wiring the pedals, and the hydraulics for the clutch.

With motor out the stuff under hood is simple. The pedals are a ***** manly cause they are hard to get to with the dash in place and wiring the reverse lights are your biggest headaches.

I am doing my conversion on my 90 Accord with the motor in place. no problem that I can see. I ws told that the WORST part is the pedals under the dash.

Good luck man and if you can post a "HOW TO" when your done.

Thanks

so the lude shifter is just shorter than the accord . they both go in the same. i went on to handa swap and i had a few people told me to sell it not even try it. But I wouldnt mind the knowledge. I do alot of mechanic work at school and at home but have never tried anything like this. I thought about just going with a stall converter but that route would probably cost about the same.

The lude shifter is shorter, although throws aren't reduced it looks cooler and feels much nicer.

If you can do the work yourself then do the auto-manual. You have a donor car for parts, all you need now is the time, you seem to have the knowledge. Maybe on a real new car it would be worth it. Some of us have cars that are in really good shape that would be hard to find in a manual. There are not many 4 door 5sp EX Accords out there to begin with, now find one in good shape when they are 8-10 yrs old.

I just wanted to clear something up:
Someone on some other thread said that the auto-->manual swap was a total pain and really really hard or something. As someone who has done this swap (on my 1990 EX), I can say that it was not that bad at all, and A LOT easier than I thought it was going to be. The ONLY thing that is a pain is cutting and welding the tranny mount BRACKET to the chassis. Other than that, not too bad. You will NOT need a new ECU, reverse light wiring is a sinch, clutch pedal installation piece of cake. After all, both auto and manual cars are identical so all needed mounts/holes are already there. Oh, the Cruise Control took some tinkering to get to work again. Car runs like a champ now! Good Luck!!
