My point is your average person goes to get his front brakes replaced at say Honda. The rears are fine so you wait, but when they are worn out they go to a local shop cause Honda was so expensive. My point is the majority of cars on the road have different brand pads F/R, if it was a big deal to have them be the same Honda would say that.

Tires are different, they say to use the same tires on all 4 sides for safety and handling reasons.
