First, disconnect the battery. Then disconnect the electrical connections to it.

You will have to pull the lower radiator hose out of the u-shaped clamp and push it out of the way. I also had to unplug a temperature sensor. With a bit of maneuvering, the starter can be removed.

Before you replace the starter, did you check that the connections are clean at the starter? Also, turn the key to start position and have a friend hit the starter with the handle of a screwdriver. You might have bad contacts inside that are pretty simple to replace and less expensive than buying a new/rebuilt one.

When I tried to remove the bolts on the left side, I was blocked by the red circle part in the pics. Anything I should remove in order to take out the starter? Is it correct to pull it out toward the green arrorw position in the pics? thanks.

The color on the picture isn't too clear. The red circle is the black part at the bottom of the pics. Is it only two bolts attach with the starter or some electrical connection attach also?

The part you circled in red is your top motor mount, you do not need to remove it to get your starter out. Just unplug it and remove the 14mm bolts. Your not turning the wrench in the direction of the green aroows are you? Because that is clock wise
