battery recharge
where can i get it done and how much? also how much is the charger if im gonna do it myself?i have a 00 accord and i read the Haynes manual about the battery recharge. it says a good full charge will need 12-16 hrs with trickle charger. today i opened my hood and saw that the indicator eye on the battery is dark, so i assumed it needs recharge?
It means you need to add water to the battery. Pop off the covers and you'll see a hole. At least that's what my older Civic battery's indicator meant. Check the battery and manual for more details but I think it means it needs more water in the battery.
Also, AutoZone charges batteries for free.

i wanna recharge it, not blow it. someone confirms this plz
If it is a maintenance free battery(most newer ones are) I think you may be going to buy a new battery soon. If I were you try to locate an auto parts store that will check your battery for free. I know around here AutoZone, Pep Boys, Kragens(or Checker) will check your battery and alternator for free. If the battery and the alternator test good, it may be as simple as a bad connection, wiggle the cables on your battery, if they are loose tighten them, check all connectors going to the alternator, grounds, etc. Of course this could also be from racing underdrive pulleys.

Some batteries need water to replenish the electrolytes? Not sure exactly why, but some batteries have covers where you put water in. I guess you haven't serviced cars too long, huh? Good thing you see more of these "maintenance-free" batteries with the color indicator. On the older batteries, you literally had to pop the covers off of the battery and check if enough water's in there.
