Default Power steering pump problem

I just replaced my alternator after 210K miles on my "01 V6...needed to move the power steering resevoir to access the bolts. I must have turned it upside down or moved it out of the way somehow that affected the pump. The pump seems to be working fine, but makes a lot of noise, especially when going lock to lock, and the fluid is bubbling up and spilling out the filler cap. Is there a check valve or something in the hose or something I could of wacked out of place? I drove it a lot today and still have the noise and seems like a whole lot of air is in the lines. Any ideas how to remedy? Appreciate the help

Dave

try re-bleeding the powersteering.

open cap and go from side to side without stopping or hitting the end of the turn.

Did you loose any steering fluid from resevoir?
Check fluid level.
I had a bad pump on my civic and it did cause many bubles in a resevoir that made fluid to come out from the top. Only pump replacement fix that problem.

I've been "bleeding" with the cap off, lock to lock, several times, no luck. Also drive it about 150 miles this week, no help. I have not lost any fluid, its right up to the mark. This started happening right after I moved it from the bracket for room to get at the alternator....I've never had a problem with it, never been low....Could it just be a coincidence it and the alternator died at the exact same time?

well, if you can replace the alternator, im sure you can replace the pump

just a highpower line and the return, kinda messy but very doable.

Check hoses too before pump replacement, you could damage or moved one so it would suck air in the system.

Hmmm, strange....... all I did was disconnect the tube at the ps pump and that gave me enough room to change my alternator on my V6, needed to move the front cooling fans though.
