Default Power steering pump problem

I just replaced my alternator after 210K miles on my "01 V6...needed to move the power steering resevoir to access the bolts. I must have turned it upside down or moved it out of the way somehow that affected the pump. The pump seems to be working fine, but makes a lot of noise, especially when going lock to lock, and the fluid is bubbling up and spilling out the filler cap. Is there a check valve or something in the hose or something I could of wacked out of place? I drove it a lot today and still have the noise and seems like a whole lot of air is in the lines. Any ideas how to remedy? Appreciate the help

Dave
