Default custom navigation installation in '03+?

does anyone have any information on installing an aftermarket navigation system in the lower pocket of a 2003+ accord coupe? my sister wants to install a navigation system, and i'd think that pocket could be perfect since it has a cover...

Something OEM for a different car, but put into this one?

Ah, gotcha.

Well, it's not advised to run something like that away from the front windshield. There's an in-unit satellite antenna that needs clear reception.

If you wanted to use the hutch, the only wire you'd have to run is a 12v. It's like hardwiring the old radar detectors.

Clip the end of the cigarette adapter
On the 12V live wire, run an inline fuse, something with a quick blow out.
Run 1 wire to the same power source as the radio.
Ground the other wire to something bare and metal.

The only crappy thing is that you lose the mobility of the GPS. You'd have to buy another cigarette adapter if you wanted to move it from car to car.

Oh, I'm also using a budget Mio

So far so good with me. It's a user's favorite because it's Windows CE based (lots of upgrades and apps available), has SD memory expansion slot(for music storage, more maps, etc), and is under $200.

Staples has the same unit for $200 to $230. If you catch one of their customer appreciation coupons (-12%), it's one heck of a deal.
