Fixing up my 91' Accord to sell...
Ok, sparks, wires, dist cap, rotor replaced...engine works fine and smoother than yesterday. Friday is the VSS and since everything has gone so well, I'm thinking about flushing the coolant.
3 of my old sparks had oil on the threads and even up on the white ceramic part. How bad is that? Is there something else I should do even after replacing them with new ones and wires? I drove around a bit after swapping em and then pulled the cap off and checked...no oil. So what does it mean to have oil on my sparks?
thanks for the support. I'm dreading the arrival of my vss ($35ish as well) cause I could barely get one hand on it (once I found it).

Oh come on. He's actually taking car of this car, which, like fathom said, is a lot more than most people do, and although you can spend a lot more money and get better parts, bosch is not going to ruin the car.
Honestly man, I think you're doing a great job and you are well on your way to 250k and you may even pass it. And after reading this I think I am going to do the same to my 91. I have 210k miles already and it runs well, but I think the sea foam will help. And I am also trying to replace my vss. I've been without one for a month or 2 myself, but it is pretty hard to reach. I got mine online for like $35 and I just need to put it in now.

hopefully NOT the rocker o-rings. How hard would that be to replace? Is there any way to tell if its this before replacing the vc gasket and tube seals?
UPDATE...
I have fallen in love with my car. I wish I had cared this much when I first picked it up at 155k miles.
Its running smooth as silk besides the front right axle which needs replacement.
Work that I have done since the original post...
Spark Plugs
Spark Plug Wires
Distributor Cap
Rotor
Seafoam Motor Treatment
Oil Change
Coolant flush
Trans Fluid Drain/Fill-Drain/Fill-Drain/Fill
Cleaned IAC Valve
Cleaned FIT Valve
Cleaned EGR Valve
Valve Cover Gasket
Spark Plug Tube Seals
Rocker Arm Assembly O-Rings
Valve Adjustment
simplyredvw - good call on the rocker are o-rings...they were hard as a rock and crush in my hands w/ a tiny squeeze.
hardest part thus far was the valve adjustment BY FAR...all I have to say about that is sore-back and bloody-knuckles.
