UPDATE...

I have fallen in love with my car. I wish I had cared this much when I first picked it up at 155k miles.

Its running smooth as silk besides the front right axle which needs replacement.

simplyredvw - good call on the rocker are o-rings...they were hard as a rock and crush in my hands w/ a tiny squeeze.

hardest part thus far was the valve adjustment BY FAR...all I have to say about that is sore-back and bloody-knuckles.
