Step by Step will cost you Mula $$$ LOL... leave it alone and you'll be alright get some rims or speakers but don't mess with the airbag because you'll never know you hit a bump and bamm........ airbag in ur face.....leave it alone.

 

You should leave it. Even if your state doesn't visually inspect it, you might have to let the insurance company now so they can raise your premium for 1 less airbag...

If you really want to change the style, then you should get a steering wheel that has an airbag as well.

It seems like you don't want to spend much money on the mod. If so, just don't do it. It's not worth it if you're just going to skimp out on it.

Otherwise, maybe see if you can get the steering wheel off another accord, like the TSX ;-P

 

you'll need to disconnect your battery for 5 min. before you start working on it.. but remember, if you use a steering wheel without an airbag, you'll always have the srs light on and your passenger side will be disabled as well..

once you remove the wheel, you'll need to remove the column panel and remove the srs controller unit as well. i did it on my civic, but unfortunately, i didn't take pics for a diy..

but as the others have said, it is a federal violation to remove your air bag.. the only reason i swapped mine is because the air bag was stolen and it's a deciated race car now..

 

Is the replacement wheel you want airbag equipped? I didn't want airbags in my car, mine doesn't have them anyway, but my last car did, and the steering wheel I put in didn't have one. But in Alabama they don't really care, I don't know about where you are.

 

he wants to put a boat steering wheel.... iirc, they dont come with airbags.
