Yeah installing new rotors/pads is very simple. I installed a big brake (rotor) kit and green stuff break pads in my car, and it didnt take over 2 hours for both sides. Thats including the left caliper i had to grind down because honda doesnt make precision calipers, they slightly vary in size on all rotors. But the point of the story is that its a big waste of money to get someone to put on rotors for you if you have a jack and wrench.

what year accord is your car? i think the brake price is high unless u r having this done at a dealer. the list includes the labor. the rotors may be easier to replace on some generations then others. i have a 92 and ive yet to replace the drums, shoes or rotors and i have over 130,000 mi on the car. so im not familiar with brake parts price lists. id ask them what brand/brands they put on your car. bremo maybe? what pads they used. some rotors are poorly made and warp in a short time. GM comes to mind, they use terrible rotors and pads.

OMG...dude if you had even remedial car knowledge you could save yourself 500 bucks. Might be worth it to learn. Get the parts, jack the car up, and find a buddy who knows stuff about cars to do all that shit for you.

Mechanics always try to get you for new rotors too. Unless they are obviously gouged or grooved, keep the ones you got. Brake pad installs are simply a matter of taking two bolts off the caliper, slapping in new brake pads, and putting the caliper back on.

why do you need new rotors?

i have 100K on my '02 and they just resurfaced mine and put on new pads.

i paid 55$ for the trany drain and fill

oil change $ is good, my dealer just raised the price from 25$ to 30$

or you can remove a bolt from that pot-looking thingy on the bottom of your engine. You'll see this black stuff come out (have something there to catch it). Put the bolt back in and go to the top of your engine. There's a little cap there. Put 3 1/2-4 quarts of new oil in there. Close the cap. 10 dollars. 15 min. Done.

If you're feeling really spunky, there's this grapefruit sized can on the back of your engine called a "filter." spin that off and spin a new one on. another 5-10 dollars.

you guys are being to mean to this guy ahaha What he paid for sounds about right its just that were either to broke or to cheap to spring for the labor charges I’d admit $46 is a lot for your tires to be balanced and rotated> As a matter of fact that should have been complementary with all that money he's spent there. But keep in mind if he’s doesn’t know how to change brake or rotors of that sort HE SHOULD NOT TOUCH THEM!!!!!!!, and at all places they charge by the axel, I could of imagine how much nicer you guys would have sounded when he came back to us telling us how he tried to do it himself and he forgot to fasten his calipers and he’s crashed and totaled his car because of that? Well point being if you don’t know how to, DONT!!!! Anyways $46 for rotating tires, and $26 for an air filter shit, to rich my blood.
