Timing Belt 01 Accord
I am replacing the timing belt, WP, etc on a 2001 Accord, I can't get the bolt loose on the bottom pulley, I've tried, rust solvent, impact wrenches, heated the bolt, tried using the engine starter while holding the bolt with a socket and breaker bar.
I've heard about a special tool to hold the pulley, anyone know where to get one or other ideas to get the bolt loose ?

HOLY SHIt,...your gonna have a bitch of a time getting that off. I ended up taking it to my mechanic and even he couldnt take it off.
At the end we got a torch, heated up that bitch and used air tools to remove the bolt. Once its heated up ( you will see it turn red ) its easy to remove with air tools.
The other tool your talking about is a large socket wrench. you leave it there while you crank the car and it will spin and catch onto the lower control arm which you think will loosen it.
It wont!. Only torching it will get it off.
good luck.

What this has probably done to your front main seal I am afraid to ask. Rubber parts + 800 degree heat =
FYI, heat is used to remove NUTS, not bolts. The idea being that you are using the heat to expand the nut off the bolt. Make sense? I'm glad it worked, but yikes !!!
check it...
pry bar thru the timing inspection hole holding the flywheel in place, have it propped against the block and hold it.
long breaker bar (at least 18") connected at bottom.
while holding the pry bar, jump on breaker bar. it took me around 6 jumps before i heard a crack. i think the torque setting is around 160 on f series blocks

The tool he is talking about is this.
Crankcase Pulley Holder
SnapOn and Honda sell one but this is much cheaper. Use a breaker bar to hold this and the another breaker bar to crack the nut.
