Coulda sworn Accord's run off of a MAP sensor. 6th Gen's do, I don't see a reason why it would have changed.

I was wondering the same thing. As far as I've been told, the '04 LEV Accords do not have a MAF... however, I'm not entirely convinced. I was thinking I might just order one with a MAF anyway. The worst that could happen is that I'd waste a few extra bucks and just leave the intake's MAF disconnected if there were nothing to hook it to.

actually, I'm a little confused on this from the getgo. I never saw an aftermarket CAI for my 5th gen with a MAF, but I quite distinctly recall disconnecting a stock MAF when I put the intake in. I just left the wire unhooked, since there was nothing on the aftermarket intake to hook it to. Was that an unsmart thing to do?

You absolutly cannot unhook your MAF, that you didn't have, and have your car run normal. It wont know how much air your pulling in and it will then run like shit. It just can't be done.

So, does a '96 LX have a MAF or not? That answers the question right there. I recall unhooking something, but as it was 6 years ago, I'm not positive it was a MAF sensor.

My check engine light came on as well, BTW.

After some research, the 5th Gen's do have a MAF. 6th Gen's run of off a Manifold Absolute Pressure, MAP Sensor.

Hmm.. MAP Sensor sounds familiar, but you say 5th gens didn't have that?

Maybe it was the FIA controller that I disconnected? Does that sound plausible?

edit: okay, so 5th gen DID have a MAF. Well, mine didn't... at least not for the last 5 years of its life.

FIA Controller?? Without a MAF Sensor, your car would have ran pretty shitty:dunno:
