Default building F23

Finally, all the years of buying parts, trading parts, selling parts, and buying new ones. My engine is finally being worked on, and my turbo dreams are that much closer. I sent my car to the shop on friday for the bottum end to be built. What i bought, and am having installed:

Fully built bottum
Iron Sleeve
C. Pistons from 8.5:1 to 9:1 a/r
Egale Rods
New Bearings
Ferrea Drivetrain
Water / Oil Pump
New Gaskets

After i get my car back (est. 1.5 months) i have to break it in for at least 1,500 miles. After that im ditching my old garrett/chrysler t3 (anyone wanna buy it, ill sell it for $75 shipped) and im buying a GT3071R turbo and hope to get at least 400whp daily driven on 91 octane, and 450whp on 100 octane at the track.

you may have to increase octane on your daily driver.

Yes i will have to put in premium gas at all times after i get my car back. Im hoping the increase in gas milage from the turbo will even out the cost of having to buy premium gas all the time.

what increase in gas mileage? if you increase the power output you will increase the gas used. it's simple physics.

i'd expect you to be shooting for 300 DD at most and 400+ at the track.

Im not going to drive WOT all the time. If you drive conservatively you have a higher miles per gallon with a FI car. It takes less energy and gas to move your car then a NA car because your pushing more air in the cylinder and getting a bigger explosive force vs pushing more gas with a NA car to get the same force.

Edit: And im planning on getting at minimum 400whp DD and 450 at the track with racing gas. Im not sure which turbo im getting yet. I have a small one that hasnt been installed yet, after rebuilding my engine im not going to waste my time with small boost. Any turbos that cant flow 45lb/min is too small. Im looking at the GT3071R (450whp) or the GT30R (500whp). I think im going to go with the GT30741R because it spools 1,000 rpms sooner then the GT30R.

except no.

when you push more power you use more gas. it's how it works.

Ive talked to people in real life that have turboed there cars and have an increase in gas milage. But since you both dont believe me (i can see why you wouldnt) after i get everything installed ill tell you guys how much i get on a full tank. I get 425 right now, if you remind me in about 2 months ill tell you what i get then.
