Default motor swaps for 98 accord?

I recently just lost my 92 civic LX. sum idiot pulled out infront of me and my car's gone. But now I've found a 98 accord LX that Im looking at and I'm wondering what kind of motor swaps are available for this car. I know on older modle's H22 or H23 was the way to go but I dunno if there's sumthing better or not. I kinda wanna keep a 4cylinder in it because of gas and cause I think it's more impressive if you can beat a V8 with a 4cylinder. Anyway if there is a site to go to just let me know where I need to go.

thanx

6th gen Accord is a heavy ass platform for speed. The H22 will fit into that chassis, but it's a decent amount of work and the gains aren't very impressive.

The only logical way I'd spend money swapping the H22 into the 6th gen was if I had ridiculous horsepower goals. The H22's when properly setup can make serious power.

Outside of that, I'd stick with your current F23 SOHC. As much as it sucks, cost effectively it's your only option.

I'm pretty sure there's a wide variety of company that makes internals for your car, and you can probably make pretty decent power with a light build and moderate boost.

Honestly, I would just turbo the F23 and deal with the tuning instead of the swap.

If starting from scratch just buy a Prelude H23 or H22, if you want the motor buy it OEM in a car. Else, snatch up an LS or GS Teg if cash is tight.

Find an H22 somewhere and build it up before you pull your F23. Port and polish the heads, do all the internals and then turbo the shit out of that baby!

If you turbo your F23 you better plan on putting a better transmission into the car. Your stock one wont last, it doesnt have the strenght to support a boosted car. If you have a 5spd, thatll buy you a little extra time. If you just do an H22 swap you can find a nice kit with the motor, 5spd tranny , and ecu. and in the long run thatll be cheaper than having to replace your F23 components as they go bad and the tranny. I just replaced my tranny and it was about $2000 through Honda.
