Default Oil Change

Does it matter what brand oil filter is used and what brand oil is used? I heard that Chevron oil is better than others, what's your take on it? What abour FRAM oil filters?

I like Mobil-1.....Others have different brands they live by.....but what it all comes down to is that oil is oil and a filter is a filter

i like to use Castrol GTX cause it says it has anti-sludge formula.
the filter i guess you could go with Fram.

I'm just curious how you could change the filter @ 3K and not lose, if not half the oil?

I've read that Frams are very cheap and not made to the standards of Mobil1 and other top of the line filters, so I shy away from them. I've never cut one up but that's what I've read.

filter can be just as important as the oil. fram made honda filters for awhile. so many parts manufacturers have merged who is to say who makes what anymore. it is a marketing ploy to change the oil q 3000 miles. profit booster. same with eye exams every 2 yrs and dental exams q 6 months. brings in the money.
