if it's an auto prelude, you will keep even. you might win if you're lucky. if he's a stick, you have no chance.

as for hp from an accord, with the v6, you can pull out a lot from bolt-on mods such as pulleys, headers, and intake. exhaust does nothing but about 6 if you go with the name brand ones. UR pulleys give you nearly 10. intake gives you nearly 6. and headers give you about 14 to 15. and there are new headers out for $500 made by obx, which are a better value than the comptechs at $1k+...oh yeah, and hp doesn't add up - it stacks on the dyno lines.

Default well...

Im in luck because he has an automatic prelude with triptonic. And he uses that everytime he races.

As for the pulleys, i thought they weren't for the v6 accord because they would blow the transmission. Does anyone have pulleys on their v6?

Also, doesn't Nitrous ruin the life of the engine? What kind should I get, wet or dry, if i do get it. Whats the difference?

General concensus would be that I would win against him because he has an auto. I would have to take out my system, spare, jack, maybe even my passenger seat!

taking catalic converter does something

i say ur chance of u winning is like 40 percent just because he has more mods than you. i test drove prelude auto (my dad wouldnt let get a stick) at the dealer before i decided to go with the accord. if both car were stock i would say the accord will win. i have my faith in my accord.
good luck:thumbup:

just make sure u get a reputable brand, i like Zex, its safer from my point of view, cuz i know many more people with them, and their engines are fine. I would get a smaller kit, like around 55 shots or less. honestly, ZEX is pretty safe, get the whole kit, which comes with that safety management crap i heard you get. if u think about it, almost everything has the POTENTIAL to hurt your car, in terms of performance mods, at least if you do it wrong. if you get just the exhaust, without getting an intake and exhaust manifold, many mechanics told me that can hurt the life of your catalytic converter. is that tru, im not sure tho... but what i am sure of, is if u install things wrong, cuz of mods, or get a cheap brand, or never clean things such as your intake filter. if u drive your car normal, like not playing with ur transmission like its a manual, or push your car like a maniac around every turn in school and in public, ur car should be fine. its all about how u treat and maintain ur car. btw, u better beat this prelude, i kno u can beat it. V6 accord vs an auto, i have friends with both 5 speeds in the SH and non SH as well as one's with auto's, and let me tell u, there is a difference, i think much bigger difference than in 4 cylinder accords with autos and manuals. i dont care what he has on this prelude, u should beat it. unless he secretly is bringing nitrous as well, he has no cat, with all the bolt ons and Nitrous, ouch, u may lose than. so bring the ZEX with u, and take home the $$$.

Pullies in the AV6 do not hurt the Tranny at all. It is the Alternator, battery and Air Conditioning that will be affected. If you both were stock then Auto vs Auto you would win. Since he has taken off his catylitic converter that should hurt him off the line because he is an auto and will lose alot of torque. Good Luck!

funny you should mention something like this. Last night I just raced my boy in his 98 AV6 just to see were my 96 ex 5spd stood. I knew he would win but I thought he would still spank all over me. Surpised with the only engine mods be injen intake, msd wires, spark plugs and racing clutch and first and second gear I can stay with him, but after that he pulls away. right now my vtec isn't kicking in and i m going to get my belts changed and switch back to NGK plugs. using bosch plat, good plugs but suck for hondas.

i heard UR pulleys only underdrive like 15 percent and most of the gains are from the lighter weight
