if you doubt the comptech headers, go to their site... they have dynos... the accord V6 has up to a 35 hp increase with JUST the headers. Shows how restrictive the OEM manifold is!

umm link? I find that not impossible but highly, HIGHLY unlikely, I've been building and racing cars (granted its been domestics) for 7 years and american V8's struggle to get a 30hp gain from a set of headers much less a smaller discplacement more effecient motor to begin with.
According to comptech's website its a much more reasonable 13 peak hp gained from the headers...
Sorry fellas but 13 is NOWHERE near 30
The 30+ occurs well after peak power and is right at redline...so yes there's a huge power gain but its not on peak power which can be somewhat misleading...
However those impressive gains...

holy.....'crap'!!!!! that's a lot of information...THANK YOU VERY MUCH. i followed the link to the D.C. headers, and im pretty sure that im going to go with that for right now....then it's onto the exhaust.
thanks again, and thanks for all of the explinations, and descriptions!!

Ok question while we're on the subject...why do all the import guys do a header BEFORE the exhaust? Or at least I seem to see that order recommended alot...with domestics it was completely opposite, doing headers and trying to push the added flow through the restrictive factory exhaust was really pointless.
As an example a buddy of mine put a set of long tubes on his Z28 and he gained 6hp at the peak and about 9 hp at redline...he put on an exhaust after the headers and gained 23hp peak and 34hp at redline. Under normal circumstance you would NOT see that kind of a gain from an exhaust on a Z28...the big portion of that was due to the headers...
So why the opposite on the import cars?

I've never seen people do a header before exhaust, mainly because it doesn't make sense. With a header on a stock exhaust, the stock exhaust is going to only be able to flow out so much extra exhaust gases that the header is able to flow.
At least with the exhaust system it's at the tail end (no pun intended) of the exhaust flow and are able to see gains simply based on increased flow from the stock exhaust unit.
