cut springs are the worst thing you could ever do to your car. its very dangerous, and there is no correct way to cut them. its just plan getto. If you want to lower your car its not that expensive, you could get a set of the Tein springs for $150(cheapest quality springs I know of) and they are specifically made for each car. don't be a cheap bastard and cut your springs, its just plain stupid.

There are a lot of guys who have just hacked their springs up, then have problems and assume it was because the springs were clipped at all. There are other guys who have never had clipped springs, and who jump on the bandwagon with those guys against cutting springs.

I was skeptical before I had it done, and now I would NEVER buy springs if I just wanted the car lowered and a stock ride quality.
Er...I still recommend against cutting springs because aftermarket lowering springs are designed to increase stiffness whereas stock springs have an intended stiffness is directly correlated with stock shocks. Honda engineers are smart people.

Aftermarket springs are not expensive. Shocks are worth the money in the long run. If you do something, you should do it right.

Default Its all up to the person

I dont mind, i hab had rode wiff cut springs be4. Yes its all how yu cut them yes. But many springs are made with a seat and almost all the times both sides have that seat and have to sit flush in the groove made for that seat. Lots times yu can get away wiff it on some hondas because of the multi-link set-up front and rear. Unlike lots Toyota's and Nissans up front that the spring spins with the steering knuckle on the on the strut top mount bearing, giving a high probabillity of making the cut spring loose its position. Newer hondas are taking this route also. .Besides cut spring just dont have the strength as lowered springs.

Keeping it on topic, prices in CDN:

SUSPENSION
Koni shocks = $800
H&R Sport Springs (or similar brand = $300
or you can go for the low level Teins for $1500ish (imo spring/shock better value)
17" Rim with average performance tire = $1800-2000
OEM Lip Kit Painted = $1000

Compare to Hondas HFP which is slightly overpriced but it's not bad, to each his own. It is a clean look and there are not too many out there.

Here you go. She's actually due for another drop later this week: 1" all round this time. I also haven't figured out whether I'm going to extend the exhaust tips...

Sorry no idea, I have a 6th gen so no HFP.

Try the big Honda dealers, Richmond Hill's might know something about it. They sell the most S2's in all of Ontario (I think) and a lot of performance parts.
