cut springs are the worst thing you could ever do to your car. its very dangerous, and there is no correct way to cut them. its just plan getto. If you want to lower your car its not that expensive, you could get a set of the Tein springs for $150(cheapest quality springs I know of) and they are specifically made for each car. don't be a cheap bastard and cut your springs, its just plain stupid.
