There are a lot of guys who have just hacked their springs up, then have problems and assume it was because the springs were clipped at all. There are other guys who have never had clipped springs, and who jump on the bandwagon with those guys against cutting springs.

I was skeptical before I had it done, and now I would NEVER buy springs if I just wanted the car lowered and a stock ride quality.
Er...I still recommend against cutting springs because aftermarket lowering springs are designed to increase stiffness whereas stock springs have an intended stiffness is directly correlated with stock shocks. Honda engineers are smart people.

Aftermarket springs are not expensive. Shocks are worth the money in the long run. If you do something, you should do it right.
