Stick wont shift when cold start
I've an Accord 92 EX MT with this weird problem. Everytime I start the car and try to drive right away, the stick won't get into gear, any gear, eventhough I press the clucth all the way down to the floor. But if I warm it up a bit like 3-5 min, then everything shift smoothly. Any advice please anyone???
I kept hearing bleeding the clucth, but don't know what's that meant
and how to do it. More help here please???
If my clutch wear out, what would I need to re-build it please? Many thanks for all the expert in here.
I'm newbee here, just bought this car for fun and learn "how to fix" here and there. I'd replaced front engine mount, right engine mount, VSS, left axle all by myself by reading all the infomation on here. THANK YOU GUYS.
Just have my car re-paint at One Day Paint & Body today for $700, not bad huh, this car so far cost me an additional $1500 now for all the things I put into it. Got it from a friend for $1000 so still good right?

Bleeding the clutch means flushing brake fluid thru the system to get rid of air bubbles. Search, I've posted a few times how to do it.
Try pumping the clutch pedal then holding it down. Does that work when it's cold? If so, that's a good indication there's air in the line.
If the clutch is worn out, you need to remove the transmission in order to replace the clutch. One way for a clutch to wear out is the clutch plate wears thin, then it slips under power.
Another way for the clutch to go bad is the disk warps or the flywheel gets unevenly glazed. Then it might shake & shudder when you're starting. Or if it's warped it might always drag, like it's not disengaged all the way.

my accord has always done this, as in ohio night temps are normally ~20degrees. it never botherd me though because in those temperatures its not a good idea to drive the car cold anyways, so after letting it warm up for 3-7mins it always shifted fine.
but, about a year ago i replaced my tranny, axles, slave and master cylinder and but a new clutch, flywheel on, and guess what in Ohio winters the car still doesn't want to shift into gear right on start up. truthfully your transmission is cold as hell, hince why most people recomend especcially leaving it out of gear during cold weather. just warm up your car properly and not only will your shifting problems go away, but your engine will love you too!

Pumping the clucth when cold without engine start or already started the engine to know there is bubbles in it?
I did the pumping cluth pedal when engine on to see if I can get the stick to move into gear but no help. It seem like something blocking avoiding me to move the stick into gears, 1st, 2nd, 3rd... even into reverse won't work. But if I let engine run for 3-5 min on 1st start in the morning then it's ok. During day driving, between stops and starts, I would need to let engine run for 1-2 min to avoid this problem. And I live in Orange County, California, sunny "hot" here
.
I don't might the morning start because I do that for all of our cars in the morning anyway eventhough the other two car are brand new 04, 05. But between driving is really anoying.
