my accord has always done this, as in ohio night temps are normally ~20degrees. it never botherd me though because in those temperatures its not a good idea to drive the car cold anyways, so after letting it warm up for 3-7mins it always shifted fine.
but, about a year ago i replaced my tranny, axles, slave and master cylinder and but a new clutch, flywheel on, and guess what in Ohio winters the car still doesn't want to shift into gear right on start up. truthfully your transmission is cold as hell, hince why most people recomend especcially leaving it out of gear during cold weather. just warm up your car properly and not only will your shifting problems go away, but your engine will love you too!
