Sticking caliper slide pins usually result in only the outboard pad being worn out. Don't be afraid to check them anyway...

But you should check the rubber brake hose for that side. It's possible the rubber collapsed inside the hose, acting sorta like a check valve. Then that side stays applied after you release the brake pedal.

Another thing might be the piston in that caliper is sticking. That would mean you need to rebuilt it (or buy a rebuilt caliper).

I agree, the caliper bolts, or the caliper is sticking on the worn side. When you press the brakes, they probably brake equally, but the sticky side does not dissenguage, and keeps dragging. I'd be checking the thickness of hte rotors on both sides also to see if they are equal.

hmmm... maybe the pads were not of the same composition by some freak of nature mistake?

Default Rear pads worn out more than front pads?

I've changed the disc brake pads 2001 Accord Ex at 60K miles, and I've noticed the front pads are worn maybe to 1/2" but the rear bads are worn to 1/8". Why did the rear pads worn out more quickly than the front? Shouldn't be in reverse? (These are original pads) Also, I've noticed the rear pads on 2001 Accord are larger than front pads and cost more at the Honda Dealership. I'm thinking it maybe the Electronic Brake System shifts the brakes more toward the rear for stability? I would imagine a forward wheel vehicle would spin out of control if the front pads work harder than the rear pads during a hard brake? Any comments or ideas?

Thanx.

I thought it is suppose to be stronger in the front. Isn't that why cars with 4 disc brakes have smaller ones in the rear usually?

Most of your braking is done with the front brakes. One reason is because the weight shifts forward during braking.
