Default Brake pads wearing on one side only

I changed my brake pads and saw something troubling (I have a '96 Honda Accord and have disc brakes on the front end only). First of all, I knew something was wrong because I had last changed my brake pads only less than year ago. But anyways, when I replaced the driver's side pads, they were worn all the way down. BUT, when I looked at the passenger side pads, they looked almost brand new (virtually no wearing down at all) . And the scary part is that I replaced them both at the same time when I changed them last less than a year ago.

My question is, what could be causing one side to wear down disproportionately (under statement) to the other, seemingly with the driver's side caliper is doing all of the work? I bled the passenger side brakes and there did not seem to be any air in the line that might be causing the caliper not to compress. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

No, sir. I cannot think of making any repeated hard left turns.

your rotars on the bad side might be a little rough, get all your rotars turned.. some places will do it free or cheap if you buy breakpads from them

Might need to take it to a front end mechanic, Mike. Sounds like something out of the ordinary is wrong.

If it is as bad as you say, I can't imagine you not noticing the car pulling to one side as you were braking.

I had a similar problem with mine. I ended up changing out the caliper bolts and I was all good to go.

They can usually be cleaned and lubricated... saves $30 or so on caliper slide bolts. Sometimes the holes they slide into need to be drilled a little as well to clear them out, just be sure to use the right bit, you dont want to enlarge the holes, just clean them.

SumAccordGuy94,

Yes. Both driver's side pads were worn all the way down. And both passenger side pads were like new.
