Default Paint Issues

hey yall

I was washing my car yday and realized that theres about 8-10 spots on my car where the paint has started to come off...the spots arent big at all...its just baffling...cause the places where the spots are cannot come in contact with any surface while driving or otherwise.... its an 05 exL sedan btw....

the weird thing is i wash my car with a sponge...nothin like those big brushes that are harsh on the car..i use really good soap...(well atleast i payed plenty ~35 for a gallon)....

ive heard about the touch up paint that one can get from the dealer...how good is it? and is there any other way to stop it from happening further?

I say you get a touch up paint from the dealer before it starts to spread and get any bigger.

If it's on the front... you could get yourself a bra as well... but not too many cars look good wearing one.

And yeah, stop by the dealer and get some touchup paint. and just put a little dot of paint in each spot.

Yeah youmight want to touch it up a lil bit... its not going to be perfect but at least it won't be that noticable.

Take it to the dealer. If the paint is defective, and it does happen, they'll fix it for free.

I know of an issue with the purple paint (no not my choice, on my ex's 98 accord ex v6). Honda ended up repainting the car for her. It looked like small spots on the paint were wrinkling. Most of the spots were small (1/8 inch) but some got to the size of pennies. The problem was described to be something about the paint's bonding properties.

take it to the dealer. Your car is still like new. Paint shouldnt come off that easily.

It could be nothing you did. If its a paint defect, you could leave it in the garage and not drive it with the same result. My ex's was taken very good care of.... I did it...

It was waxed and cleaned regularly. Hers was determined that a bonding agent used in the paint (to get it to stick to the car) was bad, causing the paint to peel.
