Default turning brake rotors

My brakes are starting to pulsate a little bit. I the dealership to check it out while I was there for an oil change. They said they would just turn the rotors, no new pads. They wanted $140 to do so.

I can pull the rotors off no problem and bring 'em somewhere to have them turned. How much have other people paid for this.

Other cars, I've always just bought brand new cheapie rotors from Checker Auto or other parts stores and slapped them on.

I don't want to put cheap parts on my accord though. It's my first nice car.

Thanks.

Call a few places and ask them how much they charge to do that. If you know how to remove and put the rotors back it will be cheaper.
Usualy its around 50 bucks to remove, turn and install them back. Stealerships sucks man, they go to school to learn how to rip you off....lol

i've paid as low as $7.00 per rotor to get them turned. thats obviously pulling them off and taking them in yourself. $14-15 would be more respectable though. goodluck

Through a little searching, I found www.88rotors.com. They have Brembo's for $70 pair free shipping. I'm going to order some on Monday. Can't beat that with a stick.

Remeber that the dealership will actually cut the rotors on the car as were an outside shop cuts them off the car. This means that even though the rotor cuts true off the car it only means its true to the machine it was cut on. Thats why cutting rotors on the car actually cuts them true to the cars hub. This means that once its done there will be no problems. An off the car lathe may cause a shimmy once they are put on the car. Thats why the dealer wants so much.

Default hard?

I haven't changed rotors on my accord yet, but from the sounds of it, it's supposed to be pretty easy.

-Remove caliper
-Remove caliper mount
-Remove two screws holding rotor on

What am I missing?
