Default Question about 6th gen accord?

Would you feel comfortable buying a pre-2000 6th Gen Accord? I am looking at a 99 Ex I4 with 44k.I am worried that i'll buy it and then have a tranny problem. Has Honda payed for trannys to be replaced that are out of warranty? Is there anything the user can do to pervent the tranny from going?

Is there any major features that the 00 has that the 99 doesent, other than side air bags.

thanks

If you are really worried about tranny failure, get a manual tranny.

I have a 99 auto-tragic and it's been fine so far at 94K miles. I change the fluid regularly, never had a problem with it.

Only other difference I can think of is that the 00 got platinum plugs, no biggie, I'd rather have copper anyway and keep them fresh with regular changes...I wouldn't trust platinum plugs to 105K or whatever like Honda recommends.

Its actualy for both 4cyl and V6 but was more on the V6 models I guess because of more HP and torque.

This car only has 44k on it, which tells me it has mostly town miles. If one regulary changes the tranny fluid, would that help the life of the tranny?

why do you keep posting the same question?

I understand your new but, we do get annoyed when the same question is being posted a vast amount of times.
