Default 90 Accord crankshaft seal replacement

My Front Crankshaft Oil Seal Is Leaking And I Am Going To Replace It And Am Wondering On A 1990 Accord 2.2l Will The Crank Pulley Pretty Much Come Right Off When The Bolt Is Removed Or Will I Need A Special Puller ? Will The Pulley Come Off Without Lowering/ Moving The Engine? Thanks

Default Front crank seal

Maybe you can let it leak long enough to blow it up!

It's probably lost the balancer seal. They tend to blow out if the retainer plate hasn't been installed. Gen 5s were recalled for this, they were really good for it.

No, you can't easily do the seal. It's not just a matter of pulling the front pulley off.

You should also be doing the timing and balance belts, water pump if it hasn't been done in more than 90k. I'd replace all the seals if the balance seal has blown out.
Get the oring for the rear balancer housing, as they leak when the cars get older.

I've also not seen the crank seal leak, just the balancer and the cam seal if the car has not been maintained properly.

I rarely see any Hondas with rear main leaks. I think in the past 20 years I've maybe done 2, when the F series engines came out. The older 1.8/2.0 engines did blow rear mains fairly regularly.

Seen a few D16 Civics with various seal leaks, but again, abuse and lack of maint didn't help.

Most Hondas when abused, lose oil control ring sealing long before anything leaks really bad. They smoke and consume huge quantities of oil.

Trust me, by no means is it a simple task. but to answer your question, the pully came right off after that damn bolt was removed.
