It's probably lost the balancer seal. They tend to blow out if the retainer plate hasn't been installed. Gen 5s were recalled for this, they were really good for it.

No, you can't easily do the seal. It's not just a matter of pulling the front pulley off.

You should also be doing the timing and balance belts, water pump if it hasn't been done in more than 90k. I'd replace all the seals if the balance seal has blown out.
Get the oring for the rear balancer housing, as they leak when the cars get older.

I've also not seen the crank seal leak, just the balancer and the cam seal if the car has not been maintained properly.
