Default HID Bulb question.

Please dont move it the basement, it is Accord related.
Will a D2S HID bulb fit the Accord's 9006 based headlight. And also if I want to replace the D2S HID bulb to a regular Bulb(9006 or 9004 etc) what will fit in the Housing.

Here is whole scenario. A friend of drive an 05 Maxima SE and he is leaving country for good so he will probably just leave his car untill they repo it.
I want to take his HID kit off the car and just want to plug in a regluar bulb but not sure what type of Bulb size fits in. I know the HID bulb is a D2S but dont know about the what size regular bulb will fit. I could just leave the car without the headlights but he said he wanted it to look like it has headlights.

Please help. Thanks

Not exactly... The kits you see on ebay come with rebased bulbs, i.e, they are not exactly a direct swap.
(if youre thinking about putting in a kit in your accord, dont to it... go full retrofit, or none at all.)

as for the maxima, just jake any bulb and superglue it in :exnbp:

Thanks for the reply Jani, I can always buy new harness and Bulb for my Accord and will still be cheaper than the whole Kit.
I was only concerned about the Maxima though, Super glue or Silicone might do the job but I just wanted to keep it driveable cause I will be driving it untill they take it back :driving: and its a 6SP BTW
Any other suggestions?

And yeah I will do the whole retrofit but who would say no to a FREE Kit....lol

did the maxima come with HIDs or was the kit added on... if it was added on... the original plugs should still be there (attached to the ballasts)

Shonnv, I would suggest that you sell that Maxima HID kit on eBay and use all that money on an McCulloch HID kit, it would be so much easier on the stock housing unless you want to go full retrofit. My friend has McCulloch on his civic, looks great so far

you can do it, but it's very hard.buy new bulbs, and keep the balllasts and rewiring is better, new kits are actually easier.
here are 8k bulbs in my accord:

Wow those look awsome, do you have a glare problem on those.
What type are they and where did you bought them?
Any night pics with the glare would be great.
Selling them on Ebay sounds like a good Idea but I thought since it is Genuine Nissan HID, it would be better and long lasting than aftermarke ones.

using a H.I.D bulb in any assembly not designed for them will have glare, just some are worse then others. I did the conversion on my 5th gen the light was good but had so much glare had to aim them down to not blind oncoming traffic but after 4 months finally did the retrofit with S2k projectors and after pulling the bumper off 6 times and 2 headlight assemblies latter trying to get them aimed properly , oh what a night and day diffrence the light patern is even with prefect cutoff so i'm blinding oncoming traffic well worth it!

as for fleabay kits if you get one with good ballist like hellas and a name brand bulb like philips, osran it's the same O.E.M quality D2R ,D2S bulb put into a base that fits your light housing. one good thing about hella/bmw ballist is they are small and can fit in tight engine bays.

^^ Yeah thats my main concern too. I think I would take that Maxima's kit and sell it to buy something else like shocks etc because I realy dont need HIDs in my car, Las Vegas is bright as hell I dont even see my headlights sometimes and I never drive long distance.
