Default 90 Accord, Key stuck in ignition when COLD!

My car is a 1990 Accord LX. I have the engine all apart for a timing belt 'stripping' incident so I am trying to fix little problems I have while it is sitting. Whenever it is less than 60 degrees outside, my key will not come out of the ignition after I turn the car off. If I sit there for 3-30 minutes (depending on how cold it is) then the key eventually decides that it wants to come out. The indicator shows that it is not in park when this happens. I figured this was the neutral position switch contacts getting cold and backing away from other contacts. Any ideas or similar problems?

there is a gear position swithc on the shifter assly. Take off the center console and replace it. They act up when it gets cold out and they lose contact causing it to not read when its in park.

Default Nps

Is this also known as the neutral position switch? If so, I have tried replacing that with no luck...however it was a junkyard part and perhaps it was a bad one as well. Any ida if that was the part? There appears to be a cylindrically shpaed solenoid of sorts which actually actuates the park-release. Could this be bad...One more thing...Is my brake switch also linked to this? If so, could a bad brake switch do this?

Thanks again,
Aaron

I attached a picture. Its photo #73. Its white and has brass contacts in it. The one from the junkyard may be bad also. You may want to pull it out and clean it and use some scotchbrit on the contacts to make them have better contact.

When you put it back in make sure the car is in nuetral and then tighten it down.

Default thanks

Yeah, that is the one I replaced...I've seen it referred to as the neutral position switch. I will attempt to clean the one I have and see whats going on with it. Maybe I can raise the contacts somehow if they are too worn out to clean. Thanks again!
