Default 8200 PRM Damage

Ok i recent just got my spoon chip for my car and it canged the rmp to 8200 but i know that is doing some damage and putting extra wear and tear on the engine so any percautions i should take its a 95 with 85k miles on it, which is pretty low for that old and the engine is in top shape (f22b2) should i worry about piston, head gasket problems, I do have on order high proformance, fule injectors and rails to hold the extra fuel its putting in, so should i have any worries????

What Changed the rmp? prm? Confused. Do you mean it changed the max fuel cut off?

NEVER rev your car higher than your indicated redline unless your engine has different pistons, valve springs, rings, etc. Fuel injectors and rails won't make a damn bit of difference performance wise unless you're running forced induction and they will definitely not help your engine last longer.

Although I talked to a guy who had a 4th gen Accord and his tranny blew when he was 40 highway miles from home. He drove all the way home at 8000-8500 RPM, hoping it would blow up or something cool but it didn't. True story.

lol yeah, it was suppose to be RPM's lol but year i heard a similar story, well i wasnt expecting it to make my engine last longer either, and its not like im going to sit in second gear at 8 grand either i mean its there just for proformance wise cuz of the chip but other than that.. ya know, i will, however, eventually change the rings, head gaskets, and valve springs

best precaution is to throw away the chip and put the stock ecu back

no upgraded internals or built head = no power past 5600rpm

revving to 8200rpm or even 14000rpm will make you slower...and i will garauntee it

Like mentioned above, with the stock heads the engine will be self goverened while accelerating in gear much past 6000 RPM.

Other than that the engine won't put in "more" fuel, only the same amount more frequently. The injectors would be OK, but the the fuel pump capacity might be low.

I wouldn't rev it past 7000RPM at idle however, you might get some valve float past that point, which could allow the pistons ot contact the valves. Above 7500, I'd get concerned about the bottom end comming apart.

EXACTLY...for my f22a4, i shift at 5500 because anything higher than that will slow me down.

how the crap does shifting at 5500 and not redline make you go faster?
i was told that vtec takes over around there plus you want to drop into the power band of the next gear. but i have been wrong many times

plz enlighten me

His engine is non-VTEC, and those types of Honda engines have no power up top. Even on a VTEC engine you'll quickly lose torque nearing and past redline.

It is still faster to redline it, even with the loss of torque. Because of the gearing, there is more force to the wheels in lower gears. The redline is there for a reason.
