Accord Enthusiasts,

I've recently purchased a used Accord and wants to know if the buzzing sound coming from behind radio/climate control (somewhere around that area) is something to be worried about?

The buzzing sound usually apprears a little bit after when I first start the car ( when sitting for a prolonged time) or when I start to drive. The buzzing lasts about 1-2 sec.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

 

thats normal.... its the abs system doing a self-check(i think:dunno: )

 

Yes it is the ABS. I also wondered that same thing and took it into the dealership a few years back and the mechanic said that that was the ABS doin its "calibration" or something. As long as it doesnt consistently make that noise while your driving. Everytime I start my car and put it in drive it makes that noise but then never again until I shut it off and repeat. I hope that helps.

Thank God it's normal. For a minute there I thought it was something serious and had to take it to the dealer and get it checked out.

 

I have that too ... but it goes off while I drive. :nervous:

 

Are you talking about the ABS self check buzzing sound from the engine bay as soon as you get over 5 or whatever it is MPH or is this a noise that's really behind the radio?

 

Yeah, that's exactly what it was.

 

I have that sound too, it sounds like a robot, bzzz, bzzz, bzzzz. Normally when I fire her up, but sometimes I will hear it at speed, bzzz, bzzz....sounds like robotic movement (hydraulic like). Most of the time it goes away. At least now I "think" I know what it is....
