Default ABS light is staying on...

So just recently my ABS light has been staying on in my 95 Accord. It has always come on when I start my car but then it usually goes away, now it is staying on.

What do I do to get this to go off, and what is causing it to stay on??

Thanks

Check the fuse inside the hood or actualy try replacing it since you cannot tell if those type of fuse are bad or not. Also try to reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery but make sure you have the code for the radio, Iam not sure if you need one for that car but just be sure.

You can check what the trouble code is by jumpering the service connectror.

The service connector under the glove box. When you look under the glove box you should find a green plastic electrical connection with 2 electrical connectors plugged into it. The service connector is the 2 pin plug with a green/blue wire and a red wire.

The is a special SCS service connector that you can use but I found that a small cotter pin is just as effective. Basically you are going to short out the circuit.

Details are found in the Honda Technical Service Bulletin TSB 97-002. Basically with the ignition switch off connect your jumper. Turn your ignition switch on (II). The SRS light will flash and blink giving the diagnotic code.

There is a guy in this forum that has access to all these TSB and he is usually very quick at responding. He can provide the TSB in pdf format. It is probably already posted so do a search first.

I have a complete 95 Accord service manual so if can supply more specifics if required.

Good luck.
