Climate Control Issue
Hi All,
Just joined today from work and wanted to say hello to everyone before I started begging for help
I have a 94 Accord and I ran into a problem a few nights ago. While driving my gf home from her aunts house we noticed that the fan wasn't working. We changed the settings on the climate control, speed, temp, A/C, everything. The fan did not seem to work at all.
Yesterday I checked for fuses, since I figured that should be something easy to look for before I dove too deep into it. They all seemed fine. While pressing the buttons on the CC I did hear things move (to adjust the direction of vents and such) but the fan would not run.
Can anyone think where I could look for the cause of this. My guess would be the fan motor itself, however it was working fine hours before. Could the fan really just "go" like that?
My brother does have the exact same car, so I could swap parts to test. How difficult would it be to get to the fan?
Thanks in advance for any help,
JC

sure, the fan can just go out like that. any electrical component can die for a lot of reasons...
so no air is being blown at all? not even when the A/C button is turned off, and it's just the regular fan?
does the A/C condenser fire up? if you have the engine running and hood up, have someone else turn the A/C on while you're listening the engine. you'll notice it firing up. it makes a distinct sound, and it draws a TON of power from the engine.
i have no idea where the fan is located, but i think it could be a bitch to fix. try taking it to a radiator/air conditioner shop to see if they can diagnose the problem.

Um the blower motor is right under the right side of the dash and is very easy to remove. Go in your brother's car, turn his fan on so you can locate it, and then pop it out. It only takes like 4 screws. Then replace yours with that and see if that's the problem. If not, you have a lot of electrical trouble shooting ahead of you.
And I highly doubt the A/C fan would turn on if your blower motor is unoperational.

Nice, I was worried that the motor would be hard to get too. I hope that's all it is, not looking forward to working on the electrical system if it's not the motor.
I'll check the motor first thing when I get home from work.
Thanks a lot for the help.

try putting the fan to the high speed on the dial and reach under the glove box and thump on the blower it should start working also check the plug at the blower motor the connection sometimes overheat there .
