Not sure, fellow New Yorker.....thats what the dealership here in Vegas, my new home, quoted me.....but no worry because like I said, we're covered under Geico's "Mechanical Breakdown" policy we have with our coverage, and they are thinking this MAY have been related to the last big front end accident I had so they are covering the tranny; all we have to pay out of pocket is $250.....

Sometimes I wonder, after you mentioned your friend dropped 2 grand into the tranny, if these cars are WORTH dropping THOUSANDS of dollars into versus what their book values are worth at the time, ya know? Like, I dont know....something BOTHERS me about the fact that we need to replace things in a car that cost 2,3, or 4 THOUSAND dollars, and yet the car isnt even NEW anymore, know what I mean? Your friend had the two grand sitting around to be able to drop into the new tranny?

I totally aggree with u, i feel the same way. i would have to think twice about it before dropping thousands of dollars on a 9-10 yr car. if my tranny ever die i would get a used one and sell the car asap and get a brand new accord i only have 87k miles right now.

at the time my friend got his accord there was no 7th gen accord so it didnt feel that old and the tranny die like a month after he got it so u can tell it wasnt taken care well and especially being a manual, u know kids abuse the manual tranny on every light. he had the money he work all his life, he had 3 diff accord n 1yr.

I have geico also (switch from allstate) but i dont have the plan u have, I wonder how much it would cost to have ur coverage here in nyc.

if u are not happy with one honda dealer then go to a diff one. sometime they are just lazy and dont wanna deal with it unless u pay them $$$$

yeah honda dealership dont work on transmissions they will tell you that but i know for a fact they dont because they run scams, they will tell you that they do but they send the cars to different places other then their dealership and they send them to shops, the shops charge them and they charge the customers rediculous fees.
How do i know this because honda and toyota dealerships send their cars to my uncles transmission shop. which by the way helps me because i get a %50 discount on all transmissions and labor included NEW!!!!!!Now to find an uncle that works on motors!
(mexicans i swear the most universal and best workers)
